Legal Secretary courses with OTC

Legal Secretary Courses

If you have secretarial skills, you can become a Legal Secretary with us. In 1988, we developed and introduced the Legal Secretary Courses which have since become
widespread and so very popular.

Our Conveyancing Course covers the Law Society Conveyancing Protocol. With over 29 years experience training legal secretaries and paralegals, we remain at the core for law course training. Study with OTC and qualify with a recognised Legal Secretary Diploma or Certificate.

Students can select Module 1 or Module 2 or Module 3.

Our Conversion Courses provide legal knowledge and legal practise necessary to carry out searches, make court applications, complete relevant search forms and procedures.

You are given judicial training to work as a Legal Secretary within Conveyancing, Criminal Litigation, Civil Litigation and Matrimonial. Law covers several aspects and we offer the most popular areas within the legal sector either as a Single Module or Combined Modules.

Law Firms are departmentalised and Legal Secretaries can specialise in one or two areas of law without having to complete surplus subjects!

Legal Document Production and Legal Audio Transcription give you additional practical skills to engross legal documents and type legal dictation.

Professional Membership is available with the Institute of Paralegals which sets National Competency Standards for both Paralegals and Legal Secretaries in the UK.

As typing skills are extremely important for the Legal Secretary, you can test your typing speed by  selecting Speed Test - www.typeonline.co.uk.

Our  Minimum Estimated Study Time for Modules 1 and 2 is 5 weeks each and Module 3,  10 weeks, based on 2 hours study per week.  Students can complete in a longer or shorter time as they find suitable.  There is a 2-year time limit to complete any registered module.  Most students complete within 6 months.

If you already have secretarial skills, you can complete any of our Legal Secretary modules.

If you wish to specialise in Conveyancing, Module 1 must be completed.  On completion you will get the Legal Secretary Conveyancing Certificate.

If you wish to specialise in Litigation (Criminal, Civil and Matrimonial), Module 2 must be completed. On completion, you will get the Legal Secretary Litigation Certificate.
